How Strange

I sat by my desk doing nothing in particular when I began to fiddle with the pages of my notebook, and then I noticed something strange. I haven't had any experiences worth recording for quite a while now but... I did find something interesting in my notebook. I have no idea where it came from. Could I have written this down myself, while being in a half-awake state of mind?

I'm not sure what these are. They seem familiar somehow, some sort of code I suppose? I have no idea what it's called though (Mary, help me!), I can feel it at the tip of my tongue. But I think this looks way too neat to have been written by me while sleepwalking. Then again, what do I know.

As far as I can tell, the dots and lines at the top are; ... . . -.-- --- ..-

While the rest is;
----- .---- .---- .---- ----- .---- ----- -----
----- .---- .---- ----- .---- ----- ----- -----
----- .---- .---- ----- ----- .---- ----- .----
----- ----- .---- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
----- .---- .---- .---- ----- .---- ----- -----
----- .---- .---- .---- ----- ----- .---- -----
----- .---- .---- ----- ----- .---- ----- .----
----- .---- .---- ----- ----- .---- ----- .----
----- .---- .---- .---- ----- ----- .---- .----

I hope I got to write them all down properly. I'm not sure what to say about this; does it mean my so-called condition is getting worse...?

  1. I must admit, I was surprised to see that code written down. That's Morse Code, if I'm not terribly mistaken, and I haven't seen it written down in awhile (in fact I'm not even sure if it's used anymore for any reason).

I'm not sure what those dashes and dots mean when translated into words, but I'll have to look more into it tomorrow when I'm not as worn out. As for your illness worsening, I don't think that is at all the case. Sleep Walking isn't all that uncommon, whether or not you are 'normal'.

I don't think it means you're getting any worse, even I have had sleep walking episodes in the past. I just think how much they reoccur is what makes then odd. You should check the notebook maybe after an odd dream, or if you wake up in the middle of the night for no reason-it may indicate you sleep walked and wrote in the notebook.

  2. Ah, right, Morse Code. I remember now, and I don't think it's used nowadays either. I know it was used back in the days by military and the like (maybe it's still being used there, I dunno).

I actually found a site for translating Morse Code and I'm about to post what those two messages translate into...

Even though I'm happy to hear you say it's not my illness worsening, it still doesn't calm me down. You see, even though I know what Morse Code is, it's not something I frequently think about - I couldn't even remember that it was called Morse Code before you told me - and I've never been taught how to use it. So why do I suddenly use it? I know our subconscious is an amazing thing, but still. I would find it very strange if this was a prank pulled by my parents since they're very serious people who take my schizophrenia very seriously as well, so for them to take the time to write this down in my notebook is simply out of the question.

The next part is binary code in Morse code.

  4. Yeah, me and Mary managed to figure out what it all meant eventually, thanks anyway though.

You seem to be familiar with these things.
